India, Brazil to export 77,500T of sugar to Pakistan

According to news released issued by the Pakistan government, the country is likely to receive 77,500 tonnes of white sugar from India as well as Brazil by the coming week, adding to national stocks of 155,948 tonnes.

The above declaration was made by a spokesman for the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on Tuesday.

Further, the official from TCP stated that around three vessels will be bringing in 77,500 tonnes of white sugar from the two countries during the next 10 days.

While talking to media, the official said that the collapse of shipments from the two countries could not be determined immediately. 

He also added that total 355,509 tonnes of sugar has already arrived in the country.

In the meantime, the neighboring country, India, has given permission to the export of around 200,000 tonnes of sugar, which was imported by millers but could not be shifted out of the port because of the shortage of railway wagons.

Indian white sugar had been offered at a premium of $90 above London futures.
